Review on L'Ambassade d’Auvergne
L'Ambassade d’Auvergne is just a short stroll from the Georges Pompidou Centre in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. The dining room has a cosy rustic décor with exposed beams, tiled floor, amber walls and red curtains and matching upholstery, set against simply laid rich wood tables.
The kitchen is dedicated to the regional cuisine of Auvergne and Aveyron, so why not start with green lentil salad with bacon or Barbary free-range duck terrine and grap jam. Mains follow the theme with country sausage and aligot with mashed potatoes, Laguiole cheese and garlic or how about pan fried sea bass filet with braised fennel and pastis juice. Finish with a dessert of chocolate mousse or perhaps their excellent platter of cheeses. There is a good selection of reasonably priced wines from the Auvergne region.
