Review on Getti
Getti restaurant stands out with its distinctive royal blue canopy in Jermyn Street, a short stroll from Piccadilly Circus, next door to a well-regarded fringe theatre in London's historic tailoring district. With a sibling in Marylebone, the restaurant is part of a small group of family-run Italian restaurants owned by Stefano Fraquelli, which also includes Zia Teresa in Knightsbridge and Assaggetti in Piccadilly Circus. The restaurant is set over two floors with a smart modern décor in tones of royal blue and white, with tables laid with crisp white linen and vintage pictures on the walls adding interest.
The kitchen showcases regional Italian classics using time-honoured recipes made with the finest ingredients for its dishes. Classic risotto, pasta and pizzas are the mainstay of the menu, but the choice is fleshed out with fish dishes such as trancio di tonno alla griglia, grilled tuna steak with olive sauce and steamed vegetables or grilled sirloin steak with balsamic vinegar served with grilled vegetables. Traditional desserts in the shape of tiramisu or forest fruit panna cotta cake are a good way to close the show.
There's a concise Italian wine list with some offerings available by the glass or carafe, together with a cocktail menu.
