Review on Yauatcha City
Its Soho Michelin-starred big brother opened to critical acclaim in 2004, now diners can enjoy a new branch with the opening of Yauatcha City located in London's latest dining hub, Broadgate Circle, just a couple of minutes walk from Liverpool Street station. The 7,220 square foot semi-circle restaurant has been created by Parisian designers GBRH featuring an open kitchen, starlit ceilings and aquariums.
New to the city branch is a stand alone patisserie manned by Executive Pastry Chef Graham Hornigold and Head Pastry Chef Sarah Frankland, where they create delightful morsels such as macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates, using classical European cooking techniques and Chinese cuisine.
The kitchen delivers exquisite dim sum in the shape of lobster roll and chicken shui mai. Main courses usher in Wagyu beef bun with salted cabbage or a steamed Dover sole with black bean sauce.
To complement the menu there's a selection of 38 types of tea, a well researched wine and Champagne list, together with a Liquid Sweet Shop offering sweet and fortified wines that can be either paired with desserts or enjoyed on their own after the meal.
