Review on Sexy Fish
Caprice Holdings launched a new restaurant in October 2015 called Sexy Fish located on the South East corner of exclusive Berkeley Square, Mayfair. It struts its stuff with its stunning good looks and glitzy, no-expense spared interior décor by the acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. Shimmering silver fish hang above the scarlet lava stone bar and a giant black silicone mosaic crocodile crawls across the north wall of the dining room, created by Guggenheim architect Frank Gehry. British artist Damien Hirst is responsible for the large bronze relief panel with a mermaid and shark and the large ceiling mural by Style Editor-at-Large of Vanity Fair, Michael Roberts, hangs overhead. There's luxurious leather banquette seating with crisp linen laid tables set on exquisite Iranian Esmerelda onyx flooring.
The German chef steering this piscine ship of delights is Bjoern Weissgerber, who was awarded his first Michelin star at the age of 27 at Ca's Puers in Mallorca. He showcases Asian inspired seafood from sustainable sources along the lines of white ponzu and fresh truffle; house smoked Ora king salmon yuzu and miso sauce with herb salad; brussels sprout tempura, miso glazed Chilean sea bass artichoke 3 ways and and prawn and scallop dumplings.
Private dining takes place on the lower ground floor in the Coral Reef room, decorated in a palette of blue hues it features two of the largest live coral fish tanks in the world. Sexy Fish also has one of the world's biggest Japanese whisky collections, as well as offering a drinks menu featuring both classic and inventive cocktails.
