Review on Sette
Sette named for the lucky number seven is the first London outpost from the LDV Hospitality group, who operate several restaurants and bars throughout America including their highly regarded signature Scarpetta, first launched in New York's Meatpacking District in 2008. Housed on the ground floor of the luxury Bvlgari Hotel in prestigious Knightsbridge, the restaurant is run independently and has its own entrance at 4 Knightsbridge Green.
Designed by architect Thomas Juul-Hanson, the restaurant has an upmarket décor in neutral colours of cream and brown, featuring wood panelling with mirrored walls and 1920's style lighting. The large circular marble bar takes centre stage and there's also a walk-in wine room with over 100 bins.
Open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner the kitchen serves Italian dishes, sourcing first-class seasonal and local ingredients, with baked breads and homemade pastas made daily, including their famous Scarpetta classic, spaghetti with tomato and basil. From the dinner menu there's a selection of crudo or otherwise opt for something from the antipasti selection such as braised short ribs, vegetable and farro risotto and shaved parmesan. When it comes to main courses, halibut is served with white asparagus purée, charred asparagus, baby leek and almond vinaigrette or from the land there's Scottish grass fed Angus beef, braised endive, tropea onion, broccolini and red wine sauce. The line-up of desserts to finish include the likes of twice baked lemon cake, ivory lime cream, milk jam, blackberry and lemon sorbet or Valrhona chocolate cake paired with chocolate banana toffee sauce and caramel gelato.
Head downstairs to Nolita Social, an underground lounge serving signature cocktails with live music and DJ's playing 60's rock, 70's soul, and 90's hip-hop.
