Review on Albion Inn
It's an amazing real-time flash back to the First World War era, the road on which this Victorian corner pub sits leads to the former Drill Hall which was a recruiting centre; how many King's Shillings were spent here? Mike Mercer has run The Albion Inn for nearly 40 years and today its reputation stands it on parade alongside Cheshire's great food heroes.
No nonsense British food is order of the day so expect anything from boiled gammon and pease pudding served with parsley sauce to Mc Conickies corned beef hash served with pickled red cabbage. Doorstep sandwiches please the hungry troops and even haggis and tatties are on the menu to salute the Scottish regiments.
A good range of real ales are on tap to help things along.
