Review on Stonemasons Arms
Displays of local artwork (for sale) cover the wall space in this inviting but unadorned gastro pub close to Hammersmith shoppers' multi-storey car park. Inside it ticks all the boxes with its bare wooden floors, cool lighting, mis-matched furniture and a constantly changing upbeat menu.
The kitchen is happy to serve fish pie, grilled burgers and sticky toffee pudding alongside more eclectic offerings like sautéed chorizo with green beans, potatoes and poached egg, monkfish and barramundi stew with dried prawns, cashews and coconut milk, or breast of chicken stuffed with beetroot and goats' cheese on Puy lentils.
To start it's worth ordering the mixed tapas plate and you could stay in sunny climes for desserts such as chocolate and Amaretto torte. The 30-strong wine list offers commendable value, whether you are drinking by the bottle or glass.
