Review on L'Ambroisie
The L'Ambroisie restaurant awarded three stars in the Michelin Guide is set in a 17th century town house under the arcades in the Place des Vosges. The dining room is a stunning affair with beautiful Aubusson tapestries and oil paintings adorning the walls, crystal chandeliers, well-laid tables with fine crystal, flowers and candles set the scene.
Bernard Pacaud is the famous European chef here and for him it is all about impeccable ingredients, the finest that money can buy, to create the perfect harmony of tantalising flavours in his classical cuisine. Open your account with
langoustines tails served on a bed of spinach with sesame wafers and a light curry sauce or a creamy crayfish soup with braised celery and pepper pineapple chutney. Follow on with Bresse chicken with caramelised onions and peas or sole meunière with white asparagus and a dusting of layers of white truffle. Proceedings conclude in style with tarte fine sablée au chocolat, glace à la vanilla, a delicate crust of bitter chocolate tart served with vanilla ice cream or you could choose the assortment of desserts and pastries.
This is a very romantic destination with impeccable service and a first class wine list.
